| A FREE special edition of the all-comers' meets will take place at Hayward Field during the non-competition days of the Olympic Trials. The meets held July 1st and July 2nd will have a modified schedule and will be held in conjunction with the Eugene 08 Festival on and around Hayward Field. The City of Eugene and local track clubs will host hands-on track and field technique learning clinics in the warm up area, concurrent with the July 1st youth meet. All participating athletes will receive free t-shirts from Nike. There is no pre-meet registration. Entry tags will be given at the NEentrance to Hayward Field on meet days. *Please visit Eugene08.com for parking and transportation information. MEET INFORMATION: July 1st: Youth day ages 12 and under (FREE) Events include: 100 meters, 60 meter dash, 400 meters and 800 meters Predicted (earliest) start times for each age group will be posted and announced at the meet. This meet will be on a rolling schedule to accomodate “all-comers.”
• Adaptive athletes welcomed to particpate in all events. • All events will be run by single age increments, girls then boys. • Participation ribbons to all ages 6 and under. • Place ribbons 1st-5th for each heat for ages 7-12 and participation ribbons to all other competitors July 2nd: Ages 13 and older (FREE)
• The 100 meter and 400 meter will be run by age groups. • Predicted (earliest) start times for each age group to be posted and announced atthe meet. Rolling schedule. • 1st–5th place ribbons for each heat, participation ribbons to all other competitors. • The "joggers" mile will be run in multiple heats based on predicted finish times. No official times or places will be given for this race but lap splits will be called and a race clock will be visable. NOTES ABOUT HAYWARD FIELD: * Enter through NE corner of Hayward Field (15th and Agate St.) * No participants or spectators will be allowed on the infield (closed due to Trials) * Parents/guardians WILL be allowed to accompany children to events * Spectators are encouraged to watch from the grandstands |
